본문

The lady of the house was considered virtuous for taking care of the housekeeping well.

The women who stayed in the anchae considered their virtue to be raising healthy and good children as a wise mother and taking care of the house well. Women's housekeeping was an important factor that kept the family going. Women learned from their mother-in-law and played the role as the lady of the house. As a token of recognition, the mother-in-law handed over the keys to gotgan (storeroom), gwe (a box to keep things), and jangnong (closet).
