May to August : 09:00~19:00 on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays (entrance is allowed until 18:00)

- Seollal(Lunar New Year's Day) and Chuseok(Korean Thanksgiving Day)

※ There is a charge for admission to Gyeongbokgung Palace.
Anyone who wants to see the palace must purchase a ticket at the Gyeongbokgung Palace ticket office.

All the exhibitions at the National Folk Museum of Korea can be viewed free of charge.


Information on the provision of commentary on exhibits
 

The National Folk Museum of Korea provides a commentary program for the exhibits by professional docents in order to offer assistance to visitors so they may better understand the folklore cultures of Korea through the daily life artifacts. (Reservation for the commentary on exhibits must be made separately from the reservation for viewing.)

Consumption of food indoors and outdoors is not allowed in order for the museum to maintain pleasant viewing environment.


Parking Information
 

The National Folk Museum of Korea is not equipped with its own parking lot. Please use the nearby parking lot of Gyeongbokgung Palace.
Location: From Gwangwhamun, take the street toward Samcheong-dong and the parking lot is on the left side. (Refer to the map for visitors arriving by cars.)
Parking fees at the Gyeongbokgung Palace parking lot
• Small vehicles (16 or fewer persons): 2,000 Won for the first 2 hours, 500 Won for every 15 minutes thereafter.
• Mid-/large-sized vehicles (more than 16 persons): 4,000 Won for the first 2 hours, 500 Won for every 15 minutes thereafter.
